meditation_evening_1Meditation is an important part of Yoga. In Meditation we learn to quiet the mind and control its many modifications to reach inner peace and mental power. According to the ancient texts of Yoga, the mind has a huge reserve of energy and no limit to its abilities. But unfortunately most people do not know how to access these hidden mental powers. Meditation gives us the way to tap into this power and use it daily...

Bhairava Yoga presents various styles of Meditation and each will be taught in one of our Daily Meditations:

  • Tantric Vipassana
  • Sahasrara Meditation
  • Third Eye Meditation
  • Music Meditation
  • Heart Chakra Meditation
  • Raja Yoga Special Meditations
  • Kashmiri Shaivism Meditations
  • Japa Yoga and Transcendental Meditation

Full Moon Spiral Meditation

A Yang Spiral is a special group meditation using three principles as its basis. First of all, a spiral structure, specifically in the yang direction (counterclockwise), boosts the solar – or yang – energy of participants. Secondly, an astrological configuration is integrated, in which pairs of each sun sign (male/female) are positioned in their order within the Zodiac (i.e., beginning with Aries and following the subsequent 11 pairs, ending with Pisces). The lineup is repeated over and over in this order until all participants have joined the Spiral. Lastly, a Yang Spiral is also a music meditation involving dynamic music, which enhances the palpable effect of sublimation within each participant.

As a result of this meditation, the subtle aura of each participant is charged with beneficial energies that balance and heal at a very deep level, at the same time accelerating one’s spiritual evolution. The effects of the meditation may last days or weeks and additionally confer a positive energetic charge to the location of the meditation (be it a Yoga studio or field under the stars).

New Moon Shivaratri Meditation

new_moon

In Tantra, the new moon is called the Shiva moon or Shivaratri, signifying consciousness. Since the moon is a strong source of water energy and has a direct connection to the second chakra of the human being, when the moon is full this energy is amplified and needs to be sublimated and controlled. Conversely, when the moon is new, in its "void" state, the Shiva aspect is strong. This is thus a very beneficial time to meditate on Shiva in the crown chakra, which represents a very deep and spiritual meditation for reaching higher states of consciousness.
